Pathway Community Church began as a small group of individuals who "want more of God" and believe that He has a unique vision for revealing His love and power in the lives of people in the Gallipolis and Gallia County area.

Some of the people who are now a part of our core group had been meeting in small groups for over a year and a half, praying and seeking God's will.

It was through these small groups that God planted the seeds for a new work in Gallia County.

The group first formally began to meet as Pathway Community Church on June 23rd, 2002 on the campus of the University of Rio Grande.

After meeting there for three months, they held their worship and fellowship gatherings in the living rooms of three different families.  Their worship has been characterized by prayer, worship with powerful songs of praise and meditations, and teaching from God's Word (the Bible).  Additionally, the group serves in various ways throughout Gallipolis and the immediate area.

In early March of 2003, the church moved its main worship celebration on Sunday mornings to the site of the of French City Childcare Center and then, about a month ago, Pathway began to meet in the Gallia County Visitor's Center on the corner of Third Avenue and Court Street.

On May 14, 2004, Pathway then began to meet at the historic and beautiful Ariel Theatre, 426 Second Avenue.

And on April 15 2007, invited by the Ohio Valley Christian School, Pathway began to host services in their OVCS high school building (which is the former site of First Baptist Church of Gallipolis).

Then, in February 2010 they were invited to hold services in the Chapel of Grace United Methodist Church at 600 Second Avenue (when First Baptist sold their building to another church):  this is currently where Pathway worships (*click here for a map and/or directions).

Pathway recently purchased nearly seven acres in the Spring Valley area of Gallipolis (on top of Maple Drive) where they plan to build a dynamic worship and ministry center in the near future!

The church offers both an exciting adult worship and a fun-filled, Bible focused children's ministry each Sunday morning.

Pathway has a strong commitment to not only gather for worship, Bible study and fellowship, but to be a catalyst for God's love and power to be known in the community and around the world!

Pathway hosts the Upper Room (adult prayer & Bible study)  and CrossKeepers (a program for kids growing in Christ) each Wednesday at 600 Second Avenue - with a snack station, "projects with a purpose", a discovery station, an exciting Bible lesson and an awesome puppet show.

The church has organized a "food-packaging" for starving children around the world and has sponsored its pastor, Thom Mollohan, in leading pastor conferences in Ghana and Togo, Africa.

Pathway Community Church knows that God desires far more than His church "going through the motions"... They know that God is ready to change the world one life at a time!
